Join Our Team! The City of Fishers is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Assistant Building Maintenance Manager to support the daily operations of the Fishers Community Center. In this key role, you’ll work closely with the Building Maintenance Manager to ensure the facility is safe, functional, and welcoming for all visitors. We’re looking for someone with:

Examples of Duties

  • Assist in all aspects of City of Fishers Community Center facility maintenance, ensuring compliance with plans, specifications, contracts, and City standards.
  • Assist in the coordination of maintenance projects, and preventive maintenance for City buildings and facilities, working collaboratively with staff, other city departments, and contractors.
  • Assist in the coordination of purchasing equipment and supplies including writing specifications and obtaining quotes for supply and equipment purchases. Coordinate purchases with other departments as necessary.
  • Ensure equipment safety and cleanliness by enforcing safety protocols, performing regular inspections, and addressing maintenance needs promptly.
  • Maintain accurate facility records and assemble and analyze data as required to prepare reports.
  • Act as a first responder in the event of an emergency, providing immediate assistance, administering first aid or CPR as needed, and following proper emergency protocols to ensure member and staff safety.
  • Provide excellent customer service to all patrons and staff.
  • Act as Manager on Duty for some evening and weekend rotations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Two (2) or more years of experience coordinating maintenance/custodial activities in a facility similar to the Fishers Community Center.
  • Equivalent to completion of a high school diploma.
  • Must have strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of maintenance techniques (electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing) and organization techniques including effective recordkeeping techniques.
  • Ability to effectively manage competing priorities and make independent decisions within established guidelines.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Indiana driver’s license with a driving record that allows the ability to be insured to drive a city vehicle.
  • Must have an Adult CPR/AED, First Aid certifications or ability to obtain within the first 60 days.
  • Must be able to work a variety of shifts including evenings and weekends.
