Description
The City of Fishers is seeking a full-time Senior HVAC Building Maintenance Technician. This advanced journey-level position in the Building Maintenance Division is responsible for performing a wide variety of HVAC tasks such as inspection, maintenance and repair of assigned facilities and systems that make up the City infrastructure. Position provides lead direction and training to assigned building maintenance personnel; sets priorities and directs the work of assigned staff; performs full range of technical maintenance, repair, installation, alteration, and construction activities involving automation and smart controls.
Examples of Duties
Provide a daily goal and objective that aligns with the overall project schedule
Daily communication with all team members and supervision on project issues and progress
Manage project sight contractors and team members to meet schedules
Work with and mentor unskilled labor employees to utilize as an Assistant Tech to complete scheduled maintenance and other assigned duties
Know and understand all EPA guidelines for refrigerant usage and assure all contractors stay within those standards
Troubleshoot control panels circuits associated with heating and cooling equipment and facility management systems
Project cost value engineering
Set up and completion of HVAC Preventative Maintenance requirements
Other maintenance support as needed
Participate in snow removal duties as needed
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED and 3-5 years' experience in related field. Associates/Technical degree preferred;
EPA Certified for the use of all refrigerants excluding Ammonia;
Valid Indiana driver's license and ability to be insured to drive a city vehicle;
Ability to complete tasks associated with heating and air-conditioning efficiently without assistance or supervision;
Working knowledge of Facility Environmental Management Control Systems;
Ability to review and utilize new construction prints and equipment installation operation/ maintenance manuals to install or troubleshoot;
Understand and utilize OSHA PPE requirements for any and all possible circumstances related to the heating and air-conditioning field;
Ability to confidently access high places of up to 30' and confined spaces such as crawl spaces and attics;
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds;
Ability to work outside normal business hours for snow events or other necessary business needs.
