On-Call Event Assistant

Compensation: $15.00 per hour

Description

The City of Fishers is seeking On-Call Event Assistants to supplement city staff for community events and outreach events by providing operational and customer experience support in line with goals and objectives. Event Assistants will work with a variety of departments, including, but not limited to Fishers Parks, Fishers Health Department, Community and Public Relations, and Customer Experience. This position is best suited for a creative and energetic individual with a passion for giving back and promoting resident participation in community and local government. This role is a seasonal, on-call position with no guaranteed hours.

Examples of Duties

  • Manage volunteers during events.
  • Answer general questions, greet visitors, and engage the community in a positive, inclusive, and energetic manner.
  • Work autonomously in conjunction with city staff.
  • Support event staff as needed.
  • Assist with pre-event set up, and post-event tear down. May require lifting, carrying, and placing signage and equipment up to 50 pounds.

Minimum Qualifications

  • This is a seasonal, on-call position. The position is expected to work approximately 15 hours a month but could vary based on business needs;
  • Valid Driver's License with 3 years of experience and the ability to be insured to drive a city vehicle required;
  • Availability during evenings, weekends, and holidays will be required;
  • Training will be provided.
